Tsinghua University hosts international digital heritage forum

The eighth International Symposium on Cultural Heritage Conservation through Digitalization (CHCD) has commenced at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The four-day event brings together experts, scholars, and industry representatives from over 20 countries to discuss digital preservation and innovative transmission methods for cultural heritage.

Greece is participating as the guest of honor. During the forum, Chinese and Greek experts shared expertise on precision heritage mapping, digital twins, and intelligent information systems. A significant bilateral project was launched to digitally revitalize industrial heritage related to nuclear energy through the Greek National Centre for Scientific Research (NCSR).

Additionally, a Sino-Italian collaboration agreement was signed focusing on digital cultural tourism, featuring the UNESCO World Heritage site of Xanadu in Inner Mongolia. The forum aims to address how to adapt ancient heritage to contemporary life using smart technologies and new consumption models.
