TSJCyL President calls for more judicial staff and resources
Ana del Ser, president of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL), called for increased personnel and material resources during the opening of the 2026-2027 judicial year in Burgos. While noting that courts in the region have increased their capacity to resolve cases and reduce pending procedures, Del Ser warned that high levels of workload persist across multiple locations.
Del Ser emphasized that permanent saturation must not become a standard operating procedure for the justice system. She acknowledged the recent allocation of 19 new positions as a positive step but stated that these do not fully address the region's needs, urging the creation of more judicial posts. Additionally, she defended judicial independence as an essential guarantee for citizens and cautioned against the risk of attributing political motivations to legal rulings.
