TSJE issues guidelines for municipal election voting and non-participation

The Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE) has provided guidance for citizens participating in the municipal elections. Nery Velilla, director of Internal Organizations, noted that each polling station is assigned 350 voters. To streamline the process, officials recommend that citizens check their order number on the electoral list beforehand and use the online simulator available on the TSJE website to practice and view candidates.

To assist accessibility, the TSJE has established dedicated tables for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities.

Regarding non-participation, TSJE President Jorge Enrique Bogarín González stated that the institution will maintain a list of citizens who do not vote. While the priority is encouraging conscious participation rather than enforcement through fines, there are established procedures for those who need to justify their absence, such as being ill or on official missions abroad. The court also noted that mechanisms for voluntary payments related to non-voting are in place.
