TSMC reports record August revenue amid surging AI chip demand
The semiconductor industry continues to see significant growth driven by artificial intelligence demand. TSMC reported record August revenue of 16.35 billion USD, marking a 53.3% year-on-year increase and its fourth consecutive month of growth. The company maintains a dominant 72.5% share of the global foundry market. Additionally, TSMC and ASML announced a collaboration to advance next-generation chip manufacturing, with plans to utilize High NA technology for mass production starting in 2030.
Supporting the AI infrastructure boom, several specialized suppliers reported strong results. 榮惠-KY saw August revenue surge 84.99% year-on-year to 2.42 billion TWD, bolstered by shipping 1,000 Cooling Distribution Units (CDU) in a single month. 家登 reported an August revenue of 840 million TWD, a 49.94% increase year-on-year, driven by advanced process carrier sales.
Other industry players also noted positive trends. 東浦精密 reported August revenue of 370 million TWD, a 79.8% increase, with AI-related products expected to scale in the third quarter. 弘塑 reported an August revenue of 681 million TWD, up 43.35% year-on-year, citing strong demand for advanced packaging equipment. Meanwhile, 台塑 and 南亞 expressed optimism for the fourth quarter, noting that electronic materials are entering a growth phase due to AI hardware cycles.
