TSMC issues NT$36 billion in Q2 employee bonuses

TSMC distributed approximately NT$36 billion in employee bonuses for the second quarter, representing an increase of over 50% compared to the same period last year. This payout follows a record-breaking second quarter where the company achieved revenue of $40.2 billion and net profit attributable to the parent company of NT$706.56 billion, a 77.4% year-on-year increase.

The growth in bonuses was driven by strong performance in high-performance computing, IoT, automotive, and consumer electronics platforms. While the bonus increase was slightly lower than the rate of profit growth due to the company allocating more resources toward social sustainability in Taiwan, the company noted that annual bonuses have consistently grown by at least 30% since 2023.

TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei previously addressed employee concerns regarding profit distribution, emphasizing a balance between employees, shareholders, and society. Additionally, the company reported that over 85% of its global workforce participates in its employee stock purchase plan, which includes a 15% subsidy to encourage ownership.
