TSMC reports record August revenue of $16.3 billion amid AI demand
TSMC has reported record-breaking revenue for August, reaching NT$514.8 billion (approximately $16.3 billion). This represents a 53.3% increase year-over-year and a 10.1% increase from July, marking the company's fourth consecutive month of record monthly revenue.
Driven by sustained demand for artificial intelligence chips and advanced manufacturing processes, the company's cumulative revenue for the first eight months of 2026 reached NT$3.38687 trillion, a 39.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025. TSMC has provided guidance for third-quarter revenue between $44.6 billion and $45.8 billion.
Reflecting confidence in the long-term AI market, TSMC raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to a record range of $60 billion to $64 billion. The company continues to see strong demand for advanced nodes, including 3nm and 5nm processes, while scaling up 2nm capacity.
