Tsuki ga Miteiru film releases new production stills

New production stills have been released for the film ‘Tsuki ga Miteiru’, directed by Naoko Watanabe. Based on the novel ‘Chateau Rouge’ by Junichi Watanabe, the film follows a couple, Katsuhiko and Tsukiko, whose marriage begins to fracture. The plot involves Katsuhiko attempting to confine Tsukiko to a French chateau as part of a ‘sexual lesson’.

Approximately 70 percent of the film was shot on location in France, featuring the country's natural landscapes and historic castles. The released images depict the evolving relationship between the protagonists and the various characters they encounter, including the mysterious Eva and the master of the chateau.

To coincide with the film's release on November 20, a tribute anthology titled ‘Eiga Tribute Anthology: Tsuki ga Miteiru’ will be published by Shueisha Bunko on October 20. The collection features short stories by acclaimed authors Yuka Murayama, Shino Sakuragi, Natsuko Ikeda, and Shinobu Matsuda, all exploring themes of female liberation and the richness of life and sexuality.
