Tua reports high passenger numbers for new rail and trolleybus services

Tua has reported significant growth in its public transportation services following the first anniversary of several key routes. The Lanciano–Pescara–Ancona railway line, launched on September 15, 2025, transported over 50,000 passengers in its first year of operation. This new connection aims to improve mobility between the Abruzzo and Marche regions.

Simultaneously, the La Verde trolleybus service (line V1) saw substantial usage, transporting more than 2.1 million passengers between September 2025 and September 2026. The service experienced a steady increase in weekday ridership, growing by over 40 percent compared to its launch. Notably, the trolleybus maintained high usage during the summer months, with a single-day record of 11,701 passengers on August 12.

Following these results, Tua is evaluating the possibility of activating new railway connections to other regions to further expand its public transport offerings.
