Tua Tagovailoa’s Back Injury Limits His Role in Falcons Training Camp

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is working through a precautionary back injury during early training camp. He reported feeling great and being able to throw, but he remains uncertain about when he can resume full team practices, currently participating only in individual drills.

The injury has reduced the Falcons' quarterback depth, leaving veteran Trevor Siemian as the No. 3 option while Michael Penix Jr. continues rehab from ACL surgery and the team has signed Cooper Rush for additional support. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said the situation will be monitored as the squad prepares for its preseason opener on Aug 14. Earlier in camp a short pass to wideout Drake London was nearly intercepted, prompting mockery from fans on social media.
