Tuan Ibrahim calls for broader Malay-Islam unity

PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has called for a broader concept of ‘ummah unity’ that extends beyond a simple partnership between PAS and UMNO. He emphasized that while these two parties are major forces in Malay-Islam politics, the movement should include other groups willing to work toward shared goals of national stability and justice.

Tuan Ibrahim also addressed criticisms regarding political consistency. Responding to claims by former UMNO leader Puad Zarkashi, he clarified that support for an earlier 16th General Election (GE16) does not necessitate an early state election in Terengganu. He rejected calls for a snap election in Terengganu, citing the unnecessary financial burden on voters and the state.
