Tuban, Indonesia: Motorbike‑truck collision kills mother and child
A fatal collision occurred on 5 August 2026 on the Pantura road near the village of Beji in Tuban, East Java. A Honda Scoopy motorcycle carrying four occupants – driver Siti Indajah (35) with passengers Dewi Candra (27), her son Muhammad Yari Fadli (9) and Aksa Abukori (6) – struck a truck (plate N 9745 UC) traveling in the same direction. The impact trapped the mother and the nine‑year‑old son under the truck’s wheels, killing them at the scene. The two other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The truck driver, identified as Mistari (61) of Jombang, fled the scene, prompting a hit‑and‑run investigation by the Tuban police traffic unit. Officers have begun a search for the vehicle and are processing the crash site.
Police confirmed the victims were residents of Gelondonggede village, Tambakboyo district, and emphasized that the incident underscores road safety concerns on the busy Pantura corridor.
