Tubi announces horror-comedy original ‘Buzzkill’

Tubi has released the official trailer for its upcoming original film, ‘Buzzkill’, as part of its ‘Terror on Tubi’ event. Scheduled to premiere on September 25, the movie is a horror-comedy that subverts traditional slasher tropes.

The story follows Nora, a sorority sister played by Siena Agudong, who must navigate a life-or-death struggle against a vengeful killer. In a twist on the ‘final girl’ archetype, Nora discovers that her alcohol-fueled memories hold vital clues to the murderer’s identity, meaning she must remain intoxicated to piece the mystery together while attempting to survive.

Directed by Jem Garrard and written by Suzanne Keilly, the film stars Agudong alongside Brec Bassinger and Aliyah’s Interlude. Garrard noted that the script offers a fresh perspective by featuring a protagonist who is ‘spectacularly ill-equipped’ for the situation but remains a character audiences can root for.
