Tubman University trains 106 faculty on AI and plagiarism detection

Tubman University in Liberia recently conducted a three-day in-house workshop to train 106 faculty members on the use of artificial intelligence and plagiarism-detection software. The training, held from August 18 to 20, included instruction on Turnitin and emphasized the responsible and ethical use of AI in both teaching and administrative tasks.

Osman B. Moigua, the director for standards for teaching and learning, stated that the university hosts these semesterly workshops because limited funding prevents faculty from attending external conferences or training abroad. The program covered various academic topics, including research policy, examination management, competency-based curriculum, and academic integrity.

The sessions were led by various faculty members and aimed to strengthen the university's academic system by investing in the pedagogical skills of its instructors.
