In an interview with NPR, Carlson argued that Trump’s threats to “annihilate” Iran or use offensive nuclear weapons constitute a crime severe enough to warrant immediate removal by the Cabinet.

Carlson expressed skepticism regarding impeachment, suggesting that Trump would likely face corruption charges rather than being punished through the impeachment process. He specifically referenced Trump’s recent remarks at the United Nations General Assembly, where the president suggested he could “drive [Iran] into hell, with no chance of survival.”

The 25th Amendment allows the Vice President and Cabinet secretaries to remove a president who is unable to fulfill the duties of the office. Carlson characterized the threat of a first-use nuclear strike as “threatening the destruction of humanity” and stated that the Cabinet should have acted the moment such threats were made.
