Tucker Carlson criticizes Mike Rogers in Michigan Senate race

Commentator Tucker Carlson has drawn significant attention and criticism from conservatives after expressing support for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan while attacking Republican nominee Mike Rogers.

During an episode of ‘The Tucker Carlson Show’, Carlson criticized Rogers, a former U.S. Representative and ally of Donald Trump, describing him as a tool of intelligence agencies and Israel. Carlson stated he would not vote for Rogers ‘even at gunpoint’. The commentator’s shift appears driven by shared views on foreign policy, specifically regarding criticism of the Israeli government and U.S. involvement in conflicts involving Iran.

El-Sayed, a public health expert and son of Egyptian immigrants, is running on a progressive platform that includes universal healthcare and the abolition of ICE. His campaign has been noted for adopting ‘America First’ tactics, which Carlson described as ‘Trumpian’.

The remarks prompted a response from Vice President JD Vance, who, while noting a friendship with Carlson, disagreed with the commentary, labeling El-Sayed a ‘crazy person’ and expressing a preference for Rogers to represent Michigan.
