Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft targets Week 1 return
Tight end Tucker Kraft, who tore the ACL in his right knee during Week 9 of the 2025 season, is optimistic about being ready for the Packers’ season opener against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. After surgery in November, Kraft reached the seven‑month mark in June and expects to complete the standard nine‑month rehab window before training camp, aiming to be on the active roster without a pitch‑count restriction. He said he will likely start camp on the physically unable‑to‑perform (PUP) list but believes the conditioning he receives will allow him to play in the September 13 opener.
Kraft described his recovery as “better than expected,” noting improvements in speed and minimal swelling. He highlighted his 2024 season where he caught 50 of 70 targets for 707 yards and seven touchdowns, and warned that a full return could unlock breakout potential for the 2026 campaign. The Packers have reshaped the receiver group, adding Christian Watson, Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed while removing Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, and expect quarterback Jordan Love to continue spreading the ball, which could further boost Kraft’s role.
