Tucson Search Continues for Missing 84‑Year‑Old Nancy Guthrie
Nancy Guthrie, an 84‑year‑old Tucson resident and mother of TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her home on February 1, 2026. Surveillance footage captured a masked individual approaching her front door, and investigators have catalogued “thousands and thousands” of videos from traffic cameras, neighbourhood and Ring doorbells to trace the suspect’s movements.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that detectives are focusing on digital evidence, DNA samples and public tips, while multiple state and federal labs, including the FBI, are assisting. A $100,000 reward remains available, but no arrests have been made and the suspect has not been identified. Nanos has said some investigative details are being withheld to protect the case, drawing criticism from the public and media. Despite mounting pressure, the sheriff maintains that the investigation remains active and that an arrest is expected when sufficient evidence is secured.
