Tucumán authorities charge organized ring for high-end vehicle theft

Authorities in Tucumán have charged three individuals—two men and one woman—with forming an illicit association dedicated to stealing high-end vehicles. The group is accused of stealing three Toyota Hilux trucks in March 2026, with the total commercial value of the stolen goods exceeding 100,000,000 pesos.

The investigation revealed a highly organized methodology involving coordinated movement, support vehicles, and a structured division of tasks. While some members executed the thefts in Tucumán, others provided logistics, including the concealment and transport of the vehicles. The stolen trucks were reportedly moved to Bolivia and other jurisdictions.

The criminal network also maintained connections to the province of Córdoba. During recent judicial proceedings, prosecutors requested three months of preventive detention for the suspects. Investigations in Córdoba included 100 raids, 14 of which were linked to the Tucumán case, resulting in two additional detainees facing extradition.
