Tucumán court dismisses charges against ten Graneros residents

A judge in Tucumán, Argentina, has issued a definitive dismissal of charges against ten residents of Graneros. The women had been criminally denounced by Mayor Raquel Graneros following a protest on April 28, where they attempted to deliver a petition requesting social assistance for families affected by floods.

Judge Enrique Martín Cacici of the Concepción Judicial Center ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations of threats, intimidation, and aggression. While the Mayor claimed she was harassed and that a vehicle belonging to her brother was damaged during the encounter outside the Inmaculada Concepción Church, municipal security footage contradicted these claims.

The video recordings showed that the interaction lasted approximately ten seconds, during which the Mayor entered a vehicle without stopping to receive the petition. The footage revealed no physical aggression or damage to the vehicle. The ten women, who had been under judicial restrictions since June 2, are now legally cleared of all charges.
