Tucumán family sentenced for assaults against neighbors

Five members of a single family in Tucumán, Argentina, have been sentenced for a series of assaults, threats, and harassment directed at their neighbors. The sentences were established through an abbreviated trial agreement approved on Monday, August 24.

According to the investigation led by the Criminal Fiscal Unit I, the defendants admitted to the facts. The judicial rulings include conditional prison sentences and mandatory economic reparations to the victims.

Jesús Leonel Rojas received the highest sentence of two years and five months of conditional imprisonment for aggravated minor injuries, aggravated threats involving weapons, and disobedience to a judicial order. Paula Analía Rojas was sentenced to two years of conditional imprisonment for aggravated minor injuries and simple threats.

Three other individuals—José Luis Rojas, Soraya Daiana Vázquez, and Berta Valeria Vázquez—each received one year of conditional imprisonment as co-authors of aggravated minor injuries. Additionally, the group must collectively pay 2.5 million pesos in economic compensation to the victims.
