Argentine provinces launch various credit and debt relief measures

Various Argentine provinces are implementing financial measures to support businesses, infrastructure, and households.

In Catamarca, the Ministry of Finance and Public Works has issued the first eligibility certificates for MiPyMEs to access subsidized credit lines through Banco Nación. These loans are designed for working capital and productive investment to reactivate local business activity.

Tucumán is addressing significant debt issues. The provincial government has authorized a potential loan of up to $100 billion from Banco Macro to fund 16 infrastructure projects, including housing. Simultaneously, the Tucumán Legislature is reviewing several projects to provide relief to over 257,000 indebted households facing high delinquency rates. Additionally, lawmakers are considering extending protections for automotive savings plan holders through 2027.

In Buenos Aires province, Banco Provincia has launched new credit lines for construction and home improvement, offering up to $50 million for materials with terms up to 72 installments. The bank also introduced a digital Visa virtual credit card accessible via its mobile application.
