Tucumán Governor authorizes $5.56 billion for municipal salaries

Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo has authorized approximately $5.566 billion in financial assistance to support three municipalities in paying August salaries. The decision was formalized through decrees 2.074, 2.077, and 2.079, which were signed on September 4 and published in the provincial Official Bulletin on September 23.

The funds are designated as repayable assistance rather than non-reimbursable grants. The distribution among the beneficiary municipalities is as follows: Famaillá will receive up to $2,554,958,537; Juan Bautista Alberdi will receive up to $1,932,719,132; and Trancas will receive up to $1,078,313,071.

While the primary purpose of the funds is to guarantee salary payments, the decrees allow for use in other areas such as public works, cultural, sporting, or social activities under Law 8.829. The release of these funds remains subject to the financial status of the provincial Treasury, and all movements must be recorded upon delivery and subsequent repayment.
