Tucumán Governor honors world champion Victoria Sauze

Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo met with Victoria Sauze to recognize her achievement as a world champion with the Argentine women's field hockey team, Las Leonas. Sauze is the first athlete from Tucumán to achieve this title.

Sauze was part of the squad that secured the 2026 Women's Hockey World Cup, held in Wavre, Belgium, and Amstelveen, Netherlands. Argentina secured the title after a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands in the final, winning 3-1 in an Australian penalty shootout.

During the meeting, Governor Jaldo praised Sauze not only for her athletic success but also for her professional background as a certified public accountant, noting her as a role model for the youth. Sauze expressed her gratitude for the provincial recognition and described the warm reception she received from the local community upon her return.
