Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo celebrates second anniversary of provincial prison training institute

Governor Osvaldo Jaldo led a ceremony on Wednesday marking the second anniversary of the Instituto de Enseñanza Superior Penitenciario "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" in Tucumán. The institute, dedicated to training staff of the provincial penitentiary service, unveiled a commemorative plaque and institutional furniture to house the official’s saber.

Attendees included Security Minister Eugenio Agüero Gamboa, Government and Justice Minister Regino Amado, Education Minister Susana Montaldo, Director General of the Tucumán Penitentiary Service Antonio Quinteros, and several legislators. Jaldo emphasized that a strong prison policy is essential to overall security, citing recent infrastructure projects such as the Benjamín Paz prison complex, a women’s unit in Delfín Gallo, and progress at Las Talitas. He highlighted the institute’s new dedicated facilities, noting that cadets previously trained at the police institute now receive specialized education within the penitentiary system, supporting both sentence enforcement and social reintegration.
