Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo discusses political dialogue and provincial industry
Tucumán Governor Osvaldo Jaldo has expressed support for the dialogue initiated by San Miguel de Tucumán Mayor Rossana Chahla with various political sectors. Jaldo emphasized the importance of including diverse voices to strengthen provincial management and the ongoing political project of the Justicialist Party.
In a separate working meeting with legislators Roque Tobías Álvarez and Carlos Fúnez, the Governor addressed the province's social and productive landscape. Legislator Álvarez reported a nearly four percent decrease in the poverty index within Greater Tucumán, contrasting this with national poverty statistics.
The discussions also focused on the sugar-alcohol industry and the potential impact of a new biofuels regime currently moving through Congress. The proposed legislation aims to increase the mandatory bioethanol blend from 12% to 15%, which officials believe could stimulate job creation and the recovery of sugarcane cultivation areas. Additionally, the group discussed political preparations for the provincial elections scheduled for May 9, 2027.
