Tucumán health ministry launches pediatric immunobiotic research with Japan

The Ministry of Public Health of Tucumán has introduced a research project to evaluate the effects of an immunobiotic food on children aged 2 to 6 suffering from gastrointestinal and respiratory conditions. The initiative aims to analyze the impact of this food on clinical, digestive, respiratory, and immunological parameters, specifically focusing on the link between intestinal microbiota and the respiratory system.

The project involves a collaboration between researchers from Tohoku University in Japan and scientists from CERELA-CONICET. The primary goal is to establish a joint protocol between Tucumán and Japan to facilitate future international funding. The study will include clinical controls and various analyses, such as fecal samples, nasal swabs, and evaluations of respiratory function and intestinal inflammation.
