Tucumán Magistrates Association faces judicial scrutiny over accounts

The Association of Magistrates and the Judicial Function of Tucumán (AMT) is under judicial investigation regarding its financial management and assembly validity. Judge Inés Yamuss is reviewing whether the association complied with a court order to provide detailed accounting documentation, including bank statements and invoices, following a challenge by Ana María Iácono. Iácono sought to nullify an assembly, alleging she was denied access to the 2025 balance sheet and its supporting receipts.

Separately, Judge Gonzalo Javier Ortega has requested an accounting of the 2024 fiscal year. His claims highlight significant expenditures, including over 22 million pesos for food and cafeteria services, substantial pharmacy costs, and transfers to UNSTA. The AMT leadership has rejected these claims, arguing that the 2024 balance was approved unanimously and noting that Ortega had previously requested to disaffiliate from the organization.

While the AMT leadership maintains they have submitted all available documentation, the court is currently evaluating whether the provided materials meet the requirements of the judicial order or if a seizure of documents is necessary due to missing inventories.
