Tucumán Police to monitor “farmear aura” youth gatherings
The Tucumán Police have announced special operations to monitor youth gatherings known as “farmear aura” battles, a trend gaining popularity among adolescents via social media. Roque Yñigo, the force's deputy chief, stated that while the meetings will not be prevented, police will maintain a presence in public spaces to prevent disturbances.
Authorities plan to deploy Infantry units to parks, plazas, and university grounds to ensure public order. The police warned that participants will be detained if they cause riots, damage public property, or obstruct traffic. Investigations are currently underway to identify the organizers of these digital calls, some of which reportedly promise cash prizes.
The decision follows recent attempts to organize such events, including a call to gather at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional basketball court that was canceled at the last minute. The police aim to balance the use of public space with citizen security, citing similar gatherings in other regions that resulted in clashes.
