Tucumán promotes boutique wine tourism model
In Tucumán, Argentina, the President of the Institute for Productive Development (IDEP), Juan Casañas, is promoting a specialized wine tourism model for the Calchaquí Valleys. Rather than focusing on large-scale production, the strategy emphasizes boutique wineries, high-end restaurants, and historical storytelling to create a unique regional identity.
To support this long-term plan, IDEP is working with the Federal Council of Investments (CFI) and the Secretariat of Tourism. The provincial government is also preparing a specific line of credit for wineries to strengthen the local viticulture sector and encourage new producers to enter the circuit.
