Tucumán showcases agro-industrial potential at Argentine Senate
During the “Tucumán Brilla” event held at the Argentine Senate, officials from the province of Tucumán presented the region's diverse productive capacity and investment opportunities. The presentation was led by Production Secretary Eduardo Castro, alongside representatives from the Federal Investment Council (CFI) and provincial officials.
Secretary Castro highlighted that while Tucumán is Argentina's smallest and most densely populated province, it maintains a robust industrial economy. Key sectors include sugar cane, which covers approximately 310,000 hectares, and lemon production, as well as bioethanol, fruit chains, and livestock sectors such as poultry and swine.
Regarding exports, the province produces nearly one million kilos of white sugar, primarily destined for the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom, with organic sugar specifically exported to the U.S. Additionally, the Federal Investment Council discussed financing strategies aimed at providing credit to SMEs to strengthen regional economies and promote employment.
