Tucumán western communes launch political coalition
Representatives from 17 western communes in Tucumán launched a new political space within the local Peronist movement during an event in El Manantial attended by approximately 10,000 people. The group, composed of 19 leaders, intends to run as a coalition (acople) in the 2027 provincial elections with the goal of securing at least two seats in the Legislature.
The initiative has received explicit political backing from Governor Osvaldo Jaldo. Jaldo stated that he supports communal commissioners organizing themselves to compete within the legal electoral framework, noting that previous local leaders have successfully transitioned from delegates to legislators through popular vote.
