Tudor Bratu wins university weightlifting world championship
Moldovan weightlifter Tudor Bratu has been crowned the university world champion in the 95 kg category at the competition held in Doha. Bratu achieved a total lift of 350 kg, setting a new FISU record.
His performance included a 159 kg lift in the snatch and a 191 kg lift in the clean and jerk. Other Moldovan athletes also saw success at the event: Alexandr Baldji secured second place in the 85 kg category with 331 kg, while Victor Moroșanu placed third with 330 kg. Additionally, Dan-Dorin Betca won gold in the 70 kg category, and Ion Badanev earned a silver medal in the 65 kg category.
