Tudor Giurgiu reportedly filming new documentary about Mircea Lucescu

Director Tudor Giurgiu is reportedly preparing a new biographical film dedicated to the legendary football coach Mircea Lucescu. The project is in its early stages, with urgent filming recently taking place in Hunedoara.

Production teams captured footage at the Michael Klein Stadium alongside former Corvinul Hunedoara players, including Ioan Andone. The urgency of these recordings is due to the scheduled complete demolition of the stadium, a process that began on October 12.

Giurgiu, known for his biographical works on sporting icons such as Ilie Năstase and Nadia Comăneci, declined to provide official details, stating, “Unfortunately, I have nothing to say because there is nothing official or clear in this sense.”
