Tuen Mun housing site workers banned after debris-dumping video

The Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) has banned workers from a Light Public Housing construction site in Tuen Mun after video footage showed debris being thrown from upper floors. The footage, which circulated on social media, depicts individuals on high-level corridors at Yan Po Road repeatedly throwing long, bamboo-like objects toward the ground.

ArchSD stated that subcontractor workers clearing rubbish ignored safety protocols and used unapproved methods to dump waste from middle-to-upper storeys of Block 3. While no injuries or structural damage were reported, the main contractor has been issued a warning letter and the incident has been reported to the police. The contractor is required to conduct an in-depth investigation and review safety training and management across the site.
