Airlines announce major route expansions across Europe and Ibero-America
Major airlines are announcing significant expansions of flight networks across Europe and Ibero-America, particularly targeting the summer 2027 season.
TUI Airline is implementing a large-scale expansion in Spain, increasing its European network capacity by 4.6% to 17 million seats. This includes new routes from London Gatwick to Santiago de Compostela, Seville, and Valencia, as well as connections from Germany to Málaga and increased capacity to Tenerife. TUI will also bolster connections to Alicante and Reus from Belgium.
EasyJet is also expanding its footprint in Spain, with new routes planned for 2027, including connections from Bilbao to Edinburgh and from Girona to London Gatwick and Liverpool. Additionally, the Murcia region will see new direct flights to Liverpool starting in March 2027.
In South America, British Airways is increasing its Ibero-American capacity by 25% for the summer of 2027, highlighted by a new daily non-stop service between London Heathrow and Buenos Aires. Meanwhile, in Argentina, World2Fly will resume direct flights between Rosario and Madrid starting October 1, providing two weekly flights using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
