Tui Cathedral to host lecture on medieval architecture

Researcher Carmen Manso Porto will deliver a lecture titled ‘La catedral medieval de Santa María de Tui’ on Tuesday, August 18, at 20:00. The event will take place at the Espazo Sociocultural on Camilo José Cela Street.

The lecture is part of the ‘Coñece o noso patrimonio’ cycle organized by the Instituto de Estudos Tudenses. Manso, a Doctor of Art History, will present her research on the cathedral’s medieval architecture, specifically focusing on its Romanesque and Gothic construction periods.

This year marks the 800th anniversary of the cathedral’s consecration, which was performed by Bishop Esteban Egea on November 30, 1225. The event serves as a complement to the annual guided tours organized by the Institute to promote local heritage.
