TUI Cruises and Havariekommando conduct maritime emergency drill

The Havariekommando and TUI Cruises conducted a large-scale medical emergency drill on the cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 3 in Bremerhaven. Approximately 50 emergency responders participated in the exercise, which focused on the coordination between ship crews, fire departments, and police when managing a high number of injured persons.

Key aspects of the training included the cooperation of specialized fire units from Cuxhaven and Wilhelmshaven, as well as maritime psychosocial emergency care. Experts from the Deutsche Seemannsmission provided support to simulate the psychological needs of victims during a major crisis. This marks the third joint exercise organized by the two entities to test cross-border and organizational response procedures.
