Tui heritage program attracts nearly 1,000 participants

Nearly one thousand people participated in the “Coñece o noso patrimonio” (Know Our Heritage) cycle held during July and August. Organized by the Instituto de Estudios Tudenses in collaboration with the Tui City Council, the program featured six guided tours led by specialists and a scholarly lecture.

Key activities included a lecture by Carmen Manso Porto of the Real Academia de la Historia regarding the medieval Santa María de Tui Cathedral, and a guided tour of the San Francisco church led by historian José Ramón Fernández Fernández. The program also extended to Valença, Portugal, with a visit to the Ganfei monastery focused on Romanesque history.

The cycle began in July with an archaeological site visit at Praza do Pracer, highlighting Roman-era findings.
