TUI AG reports lower Q3 profit amid geopolitical uncertainty
TUI AG reported a decline in its third-quarter results for the 2026 fiscal year, citing geopolitical instability and shifting consumer behavior. The company’s adjusted EBIT fell by approximately 27 percent to 234 million euros, down from 321 million euros in the previous year. Revenue also decreased by about 6 percent to 5.82 billion euros.
CEO Sebastian Ebel noted that the conflict in Iran significantly impacted operations, costing the company 20 million euros due to cruise ships being delayed in the Persian Gulf. Additionally, rising fuel costs and economic weakness in key European markets have contributed to a trend of last-minute bookings, which tends to compress profit margins.
Despite the quarterly decline and the suspension of its revenue guidance, TUI confirmed its underlying EBIT forecast for the full fiscal year, projecting a range between 1.1 billion and 1.4 billion euros. The company highlighted a recent recovery in booking momentum over the last four weeks.
