Tulkarm fundraising campaign raises 3 million shekels for child's medical treatment

A massive grassroots fundraising campaign, titled ‘Labbayki Ya Basmala’, has raised over 3 million shekels to fund medical treatment for Basmala Ali Al-Zabin, a young girl from Tulkarm. Basmala suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a severe form of the disease that requires specialized and costly medical intervention.

The total cost for her treatment is estimated at approximately 2.4 million dollars. Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil announced that the funds currently in the campaign's dedicated bank account and fund exceed 3 million shekels. This figure does not include pledged donations that have not yet arrived, nor does it account for in-kind donations such as gold, vehicles, and horses.

Basmala is currently receiving intensive care at the Shaheed Thabet Thabet Government Hospital in Tulkarm. The campaign has gained significant momentum, drawing support from activists, influencers, and various Palestinian governorates across the West Bank and within Palestinian territories.
