Sylvester Stallone discusses character deaths in Tulsa King Season 4
In the fourth season of Paramount+ series ‘Tulsa King’, major characters Margaret Devereaux and Oklahoma Governor Cal Thresher are killed in a private plane crash over the Pacific. Sylvester Stallone explained that these deaths were narratively necessary to disrupt the protagonist Dwight Manfredi’s growing criminal empire and return him to an underdog status.
Stallone noted that the loss of Margaret forces Dwight to confront intense grief and survivor’s guilt, while the death of Governor Thresher creates new political conflict. The vacancy in leadership leads to Amanda Clark assuming control of Oklahoma, where she moves to revoke Dwight’s liquor licenses and challenge his business interests.
Additionally, the season introduces new complications for Dwight’s associates. Tyson faces legal and criminal threats after a botched drug distribution involving adulterated ecstasy pills, and the character Bodhi seeks to act as a guide for a grieving Dwight.
