Tultepec crime rates rise in public transport and drug offenses
Crime rates in Tultepec have seen significant increases during the first seven months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to data from the Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública (SESNSP).
Public transport robbery investigations rose by 260%, jumping from 15 to 54 cases. Rape investigations increased by 150%, rising from 12 to 30 cases, while drug trafficking investigations saw a 111.11% increase, moving from nine to 19 cases.
While some crimes such as robbery against pedestrians (down 14.2%), domestic violence (down 3.08%), and intentional injuries (down 2.35%) showed slight decreases, residents expressed growing concern regarding local insecurity. Citizens have called for increased police patrols, particularly during commuting hours, noting that many crimes go unreported due to a lack of faith in the judicial process.
