Tultitlán flooding leads to six deaths in transport van gas leak

Six people died in Tultitlán, Estado de México, after a public transport van became trapped in floodwaters during heavy rains on the night of September 6. The incident occurred near the Cueyamil station of the Suburbano Train.

Preliminary investigations suggest a gas leak caused the fatalities. Reports indicate that three victims were found dead inside the vehicle, while the other three collapsed and died on the sidewalk after managing to exit the van. The victims included two women and four men.

Authorities are investigating whether the vehicle struck a submerged obstacle that damaged its gas tank. The van, part of the Ruta 30 service, was operating in an area with severe flooding and poor road conditions. Local officials are working to determine if the vehicle was on its regular route and to establish legal responsibilities for the incident.
