Tulum authorities detain suspects in taxi driver homicide

Authorities in Quintana Roo have announced the detention of four individuals in connection with homicides in Tulum. Among those detained are a Canadian national, a 17-year-old, and a man from Mexico City.

Attorney General Raciel López Salazar stated that the Canadian national and the minor are being investigated for the killing of taxi driver Manuel Luciano, who was shot three times. The arrests took place in central Tulum, while a fourth detention resulted from a separate investigation into a different killing earlier this month.

The announcement follows a series of violent incidents in the region, including a body discovered on the road to Cobá and a recent shooting in the downtown area.
