Tulum expands destination wedding and romance tourism sector

Tulum is working to strengthen its position as a premier destination for romance tourism and destination weddings. The municipality is hosting ‘The Art of Destination Wedding: Love, Art & Architecture’, an event scheduled for October 2 that aims to bring together over 100 industry professionals, organizers, and suppliers to foster business alliances and new economic opportunities.

Local officials, including Tourism Director Haydee Hernández, have expressed support for initiatives that diversify the local tourism offering. The event, organized by Sofía García Cigala, focuses on connecting service providers to expand the options available to couples seeking wedding venues in the region.

Market data for the area indicates a wide range of wedding package costs for 2027, with symbolic ceremonies starting at approximately $689 at Bahia Principe and premium packages reaching $19,500 at Hilton Tulum. Major all-inclusive resorts in the vicinity, such as Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa and Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club, offer various wedding structures, including complimentary options tied to specific stay requirements.
