Tumaco Treasury Promotes Industry and Commerce Tax Payments

The Treasury Office of the Tumaco district in Colombia is conducting outreach visits to local businesses to explain the obligations and benefits of the Industry and Commerce tax. Officials walk through commercial establishments, providing information on how the tax supports municipal projects such as infrastructure, education, health, security and social programs. Treasury head Diana Micolta highlighted the initiative as a dialogue platform to encourage voluntary compliance and strengthen the district’s financial capacity for public works and services.

The campaign aims to increase tax collection, improve fiscal sustainability, and raise awareness among merchants about the importance of timely tax payments for community development.
