Tumakuru residence burglarized of Rs 2.25 crore in gold and silver

Gold and silver valuables worth an estimated Rs 2.25 crore were stolen from a residence in Chikpet, Tumakuru, Karnataka. The burglary occurred while the family, led by gold testing unit owner Lakshman Ganapat Pawar, was away attending their son’s wedding celebrations.

On August 31, a staff member alerted the family that the compound wall grill had been cut. Upon returning to the home on Wednesday night, the family discovered that the front door had been damaged with a weapon and window grills were broken. The thieves reportedly took gold ornaments, gold biscuits, and silver articles from cupboards, drawers, and a wall compartment.

The family suspects the perpetrators may have been familiar with the household and the location of the valuables. Local police have received a formal complaint and are currently investigating the incident to identify the suspects and recover the stolen items.
