Tumane Monastery issues guidance for pilgrims
Tumane Monastery has provided guidance for pilgrims regarding the customs and rules for visiting the site. According to monastery representatives, the most important requirement for visitors is to arrive with sincere faith and hope.
While many pilgrims ask about bringing gifts such as oil, sugar, coffee, or wine, the monastery states these are not mandatory. Regarding fasting, it is not a requirement for visiting unless the believer is preparing for Holy Communion, though Orthodox Christians are encouraged to fast on Wednesdays, Fridays, and during Church-prescribed periods.
In response to questions about prayer, the monastery clarifies that prayers should not be conducted via telephone. While personal presence is highly encouraged to stand before God, those unable to visit in person may leave names to be mentioned in prayers. Additionally, specific prayers for offspring are designated for married couples who are wed in the church but do not have children.
