Tumbes receives new youth employment and labor inspection initiatives
The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion has launched several initiatives in Tumbes to boost youth employment and strengthen labor oversight. A recent youth job fair offered over 600 vacancies alongside free career guidance services. Additionally, the Llamkasun Perú program will invest more than S/ 1.1 million to create 360 temporary jobs across seven districts in the region.
To improve long-term employability, the Capitán FAP José Abelardo Quiñones Technological Institute has been added to the National Registry of Public Employment Services, providing over 800 students with access to job mediation and guidance.
Furthermore, two new agreements between the central government and the Regional Government of Tumbes aim to decentralize state services. One agreement integrates the technical capacity of the National Superintendency of Labor Inspection (Sunafil) with regional efforts to enhance worker protection and employer oversight. The second agreement utilizes the Jóvenes Productivos program to provide training, competency certification, and technical assistance for entrepreneurs, specifically targeting vulnerable youth.
