Tun Faisal demands explanation over death of man in police custody

Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has called on Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail to provide an immediate explanation regarding the death of Noorizwan Zulkefly. Noorizwan, aged 42, died on October 1 while in police custody at the Cheras District Police Headquarters.

The demand follows reports from the family's lawyer regarding 21 injuries discovered on the deceased's body. Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) representative N. Surendran has urged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to classify the death as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code due to the nature of these injuries.

The family is scheduled to hold a peaceful assembly this Saturday to demand justice and clarity regarding the circumstances of Noorizwan's death at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM).
